Hyperion Power Services selected to provide engineering services to Owners for new Power Plant by Seminole Electric
(Jun 2019) Hyperion Power Services is proud to have signed an engineering services contract with Seminole Electric Cooperative, supporting a new Combined Cycle power plant construction project at Palatka, Florida. The new plant will use natural gas for fuel and will replace an existing coal-fired plant which will be decommissioned.
Seminole Electric is one of the largest US generation and transmission (G&T) cooperatives, providing reliable, competitively priced, electric power to 1.8 million people and businesses throughout Florida through its nine Member distribution electric cooperatives. Today, Seminole’s primary resources include the Seminole Generating Station (SGS) in northeast Florida and the Richard J. Midulla Generating Station (MGS) in south central Florida. Seminole also owns and maintains more than 350 miles of transmission line.
