HyperionRSI Simulation (HRS) changes its name to CORYS Simulation Middle East (CSME)
(July 2020) Following a unanimous decision of its Board of Directors, effective June 2020 the name of HyperionRSI Simulation changed to CORYS Simulation Middle East (CSME). The name change was decided in order to properly reflect the ownership of the company which, since October 2018, is 75% owned by the CORYS Group (www.corys.com) and 25% owned by Hyperion.
CORYS Simulation Middle East will continue to operate out of the Hyperion Group building in Nicosia, Cyprus as a leading EMEA-focused provider of Operator Training Simulator (OTS) solutions and Dynamic Simulation studies to the hydrocarbons market, based on the IndissPlus© simulation technology.
“Every change presents an opportunity to reflect on the past and set new goals for the future. As part of the CORYS family we look towards the future, with renewed confidence, ready to take on the challenges we encounter. We rely on our experience, core values and professionalism, and re-affirm our commitment to strive to provide continuously improved services to our clients”. said Dr. Antonis Kaniclides CEO, CORYS Simulation Middle East.
Historically, the application of Dynamic Process Simulation to the training of plant operators (OTS), has been the very first activity for Hyperion since its establishment in 1993. Initially, Hyperion’s OTS business was based on software technology from AspenTech, but after AspenTech’s exit from the sector at the end of 2004, Hyperion switched to using technology from Invensys (now AVEVA) and successfully grew its OTS business as a globally operating independent OTS solutions provider for the following 10 years. In 2014, following a strategic investment by RSI (a then subsidiary of IFP Training) Hyperion’s OTS business was span-off as a separate 50%-50% joint ownership company under the name of HyperionRSI Simulation (HRS). In 2017, RSI itself was acquired by the CORYS group.
“HRS, now CORYS Simulation Middle East, carries with it over 25 years of Hyperion heritage, experience and success references in the training simulation space, however our investment in CSME goes well beyond history and the emotional bond. We strongly believe in the value added benefits that training simulation brings to process manufacturers and look forward to the growth prospects of the business in the years to come”, said Dr. Symeon Kassianides, Chairman and CEO of the Hyperion Group.
