Nicosia, Cyprus – July 1, 2025We’re excited to share that Hyperion Systems Engineering Ltd has been awarded funding under the “PhD in Industry/1124” programme, part of the RESTART 2016–2020 framework, supported by the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF).
The selected project, Artificial Intelligence Soft Sensor (AI-SS), will develop next-generation AI-based soft-sensing models for the polymer and process industries, building on work already deployed in real industrial settings through our proprietary platform HYPPOS.
This new research will deepen and expand the capabilities first developed under the EMBED-AI project, which enhanced HYPPOS’ predictive performance and operational intelligence.
Working with top researchers at The Cyprus Institute’s CASTORC, a PhD researcher will be embedded in our team to apply advanced techniques, like physics-informed machine learning and online learning, to real industrial data.
Key Outcomes Expected:
🔹 Stronger AI models that improve quality prediction and operational efficiency🔹 Reduced need for physical sensors and complex recalibration🔹 Scalable benefits across other process industries
This award reflects our long-term commitment to industrial innovation, practical AI, and research partnerships that deliver real-world impact.
🙏 We thank the Research and Innovation Foundation, our academic partners, and our industrial collaborators.
